Zomba Action Project in Coleraine

Coleraine Borough Council Area has a population of 56,400 (2004). The town of Coleraine on the River Bann is the administrative centre. This is at the site of the oldest known habitation in Ireland. It is now a busy commercial, financial and shopping centre which is well served by roads, train and bus services.
It offers a busy programme of drama and concerts and cultural events throughout the year.

The Borough area (190 square miles) stretches over the 20 miles of coastline on the north coast of  Northern Ireland and inland along the valley of the River Bann and up into the Sperrin Mountains at Glenullin. The area includes the tourist resorts of Portrush, Portstewart and Castlerock and busy market towns, Garvagh and Kilrea. The area offers residents and visitors a comprehensive range of leisure and sporting opportunities.

The area provides possibilities for many walks and there are 12 golf courses, all in beautiful surroundings.

The University of Ulster, Coleraine Campus, with students offers a wide range of studies. The many businesses and companies provide jobs in the community.

A range of accommodation from B & Bs and self catering to hotels as well as restaurants are available.

There is provision for primary and secondary level education for children in all areas.
